Hey, my name is Sarah and I am a senior (almost alum) at Lakeside School in Seattle.
As a culminating project for my Global Literacy class, my teacher challenged each of us to create some kind of social media outlet that would be able to reach at least 100 people.
Two years ago in July 2009, I went on a service learning trip with ten of my peers to live in a rural mountain village in Morocco. It was an amazing experience for me, and really contextualized all that I had learned about the world through the media and history classes. I hope that with these stories based around the subjects of water, food, shelter, energy, and economy will help you learn more about the world as well! And beyond this, we (or I) as an average American teenager can compare my life and culture to that of an adolescent in Morocco. Really how many worlds apart are Seattle and Rabat?
